Rear-Load Garbage & Recycling Collector Position Summary We are seeking dependable and hardworking Garbage & Recycling Collectors to work on a rear-load collection truck. This is a physically demanding position that requires employees to work outdoors and remain committed to safety and productivity in all weather conditions. Job Duties & Responsibilities Collect residential and/or commercial garbage and recyclable materials from designated locations. Ride on and work from the rear of a collection truck while following all safety procedures. Lift, carry, and empty garbage and recycling containers into the truck. Assist the driver with positioning the truck and safely navigating collection routes. Keep the work area around the truck clean and free of debris. Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Communicate effectively with the driver and other crew members. Report damaged containers, unsafe conditions, or other issues to the driver or supervisor. Work efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety. Perform outdoor work regardless of weather conditions , including heat, cold, rain, snow, and other conditions. Required Safety Equipment Employees must provide and wear the following: Steel-toe safety boots High-visibility safety vest Work gloves Qualifications Previous waste collection, recycling, sanitation, or general labor experience is a plus but not required. Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials throughout the workday. Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Must follow all safety instructions and wear required PPE at all times. Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. Important Job Requirements This position involves heavy physical labor and outdoor work in all weather conditions.
