Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at GT Norman Elementary as a Paraprofessional. This part-time position is designed for someone who is passionate about supporting students in their educational journey. The Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and staff to assist in the delivery of instructional programs, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and instructional activities.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them with their academic tasks and social interactions.
- Monitor student behavior and provide guidance to promote a positive classroom environment.
- Help with the preparation of instructional materials and classroom organization.
- Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations as directed.
- Assist in the supervision of students during lunch, recess, and other non-classroom activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavior as required.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to identify student needs and develop appropriate strategies for support.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in child development, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in helping students succeed academically and socially.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers and administrators.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology are desirable.
- Must pass a background check and meet all other district requirements.
- Must pass a PARA test or have 60 college credit hours from an accredited college.
